ACRYLIC LANDSCAPES – I use Golden Brand acrylics and all the enhancing products for studio painting. There is much for me to explore here for surprising effects with this medium. “Pilar on My Mind” portrays a place and image deeply embedded in my mind. Pilar, New Mexico is a rugged spot south of Taos, New Mexico on the road to Santa Fe. The Rio Grande River at this point is a popular white water rafting destination. An old stagecoach road borders the river, and links with the historic Embudo Stagecoach Station a few miles south of Pilar. “Along the High Road to Taos” depicts the color along the High Road near towns like Penasco, Las Trampas, Truchas and Chimayo in New Mexico. The “Pedernal” portrays the landmark made famous by Georgia Okeefe during her many times spent at Ghost Ranch near Abiquiu, New Mexico.
